Laboratory-grown diamonds

Is a laboratory-grown diamond a real diamond?

Yes. It is carbon crystallised in the same cubic structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness and the same way of handling light. The difference is origin: it is grown above ground instead of mined. Under the Indian standard IS 19469:2025 it must be described as a laboratory-grown (or laboratory-created) diamond, and we always do.

Will it pass a diamond tester?

Yes. Standard jeweller's testers identify it as diamond, because it is one. Telling laboratory-grown from mined needs specialist laboratory equipment, which is exactly why your grading report states the origin.

What do CVD and HPHT mean?

They are the two ways diamonds are grown. CVD (chemical vapour deposition) builds the crystal layer by layer from carbon-rich gas; HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) recreates the conditions deep in the earth. Both produce diamond, and the report usually notes the method.

Do laboratory-grown diamonds turn cloudy or lose their sparkle?

No. They are as hard as mined diamonds (10 on the Mohs scale). Like any diamond they collect skin oils and dust, so clean them gently with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush.

Will it hold its value?

Honestly, resale value for laboratory-grown diamonds is low, and prices have fallen sharply over the last few years. Buy one because you love wearing it and it gives you more stone for your budget, not as an investment.

Certification

Does my piece come with a certificate?

Every stone over 1 carat comes with an IGI grading report. If you'd like smaller stones certified too, ask when you order and we'll arrange it.

What grades do you use?

Most of our stones are D colour with VVS1 to VVS2 clarity. Your report shows the exact grades.

How do I verify the report?

Enter the report number on the issuing laboratory's own website and compare the details. Our certification page explains it step by step.

Ordering

How does ordering work?

Send us the occasion, a rough budget and any references on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form. We talk through stone, metal and design, give you an approximate price, and send you a CAD design. Production starts once you approve it.

Will I know the price before I order?

Yes. You get an approximate price before the piece is commissioned, so there are no surprises.

Can I reset the stones later?

Yes. If you no longer wear a piece we made for you, we can take its stones and reset them into a new design. For example, a pair of 1-carat earrings can become a ring or a pendant. Stones are taken back for redesign only, not bought back.

Do you have ready-made stock?

No. Every piece is made to order, so nothing is made before someone asks for it.

How long does it take?

It depends on the design. We give you a realistic timeline before we start. If you have a date in mind, tell us in your first message.

Can I send a design I found online?

Yes. Reference photos, sketches or screenshots are a great starting point; we'll adapt the design around your stone, budget and occasion.
